The study included 386 randomly assigned recreational runners aged 18 to 65 years of age. Each group was assigned either a normal running shoe or a motion control shoe for six months’ time. Of all the injuries sustained during the trial period, 32% of regular shoe wearers suffered an injury while 18% of motional control shoe wearers sustained an injury. This showed that motion control helped those with flat feet, but did not have any effect on those with normal pronation.
